General description of the collection: The Edna M. Dunlap collection contains correspondence, identification cards, official documents, brochures, and preservation copies of newspaper clippings. The correspondence is from Henry L. Stimson, former Secretary of War. Dunlap also had her War Department and French work permit identification cards which include photographs. Her official documents are passes, and a list of immunizations, transfers and equipment that was issued to her, and her enlistment certificate. Also, included in the collection are a program for a play in France, a dance sign-up sheet, booklets for the National Organization for World War Nurses, and newspaper clippings regarding World War I nurses are part of this collection. Documents from a reunion included a dinner menu, and a handwritten and transcribed copy of a speech Dunlap gave for the Lakeside Hospital.

Edna Matilda Dunlap was called into active service in the Army Nurse Corps (ANC) 1 September 1918. She was assigned to the Base Hospital, Fort Meade Maryland until she went overseas and was assigned to Base Hospital 8 in Savenay, France. In February 1919, she was reassigned to Base Hospital 69.
